Christie Frederick Hall

June 3, 1937 — January 27, 2024

Suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Saturday, January 27th, at the age of 86 years.

Beloved husband of the late Audrey Joan Stephens (2022).  Father of Stephen Hall, Cyndy (Brian Blair) and Glenford Hall.   Loving Grandfather of Sean Hall, Chet Blair and Andrea, Hogan Blair and Rickey-Lake, Brianne Blair and Jacob, and Evan Hall and Talia.  Dear Great Grandfather to Avery, Ava and Asher Ridsdill-Blair and Mateo Hall.

Born in Sharon, ON to Daisy (nee Ward) and Frederick Hall.  Mischievous brother to Madelene Easton, Elda Jackson and Patsy Rutledge.  Predeceased by his sisters Blanche Robertson, Erma Wood, Margery Johnson and his brothers Joseph, Arthur and Lyman.

Christie went to Sharon P.S. and Newmarket High and worked on the family farm in Sharon, ON before working for Jeffrey’s Fuels and Coates Fuels in Queensville, ON.

Christie met Audrey in 1958 at the dance hall in Port Bolster.  They married in 1960 at All Saints Anglican church in King City and moved into their first home which Christie built on a severed lot off the family farm on Leslie Street in Sharon.

In 1969 they bought a 50 acre farm on Baseline Road in Sutton West.  While a hardworking gentleman farmer, he continued full time work as a truck driver, later as a caretaker of Queensville Cemetery and lastly many years as a successful Real Estate agent in Newmarket, Georgina and surrounding area.

Important to Christie were his family, friends, his community and his shared love of Lake Simcoe with Audrey where they played at the summer cottage in Port Bolster and resided on Cooks’ Bay for many years.  His volunteer work included the Sutton Curling Club the Georgina Lawn Bowling Club and Club 55 Seniors Centre.  He was passionate about Curling, Lawn Bowling, Euchre and Billiards.  Many were fortunate to have been entertained by his beloved harmonica playing or have been a victim of one of his many practical jokes.

Throughout his last few years Christie struggled with the challenges of dementia and the loss of Audrey.  He retained his sense of humour and gentle demeanor and fortunately his ability to recognize his family and friends but sadness and confusion were never far away.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Friday, April 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 at the MW Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway S. Keswick, ON. Interment Queensville Cemetery.

In memory of Christie, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
