Elizabeth Mercy Mackenzie

Libby passed away at the age of 90 March 31, 2017 in the company of her daughter Cheryl and her loving family. She was the first of 11 children born to Benjamin Compton and Lydia Jardine of Bangor, Prince Edward Island. Her first 16 years were on P.E.I. where she met and married Glen. For 62 years they were inseparable. Their children Bob, Dale and Cheryl were born in Alberta. The family moved to Ontario in 1962 to enjoy the rest of their lives. Libby and Glen had 8 grandchildren whom she helped raise and loved with all her heart. Her last few years were hard without Glen, but her spirits were always lifted by visits with her siblings, her children and grandchildren. With Cheryl's devoted care, Libby passed away peacefully at home. Libby graced us with her class and dignity and will be forever missed and loved. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, reception at 6:30 p.m., funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at the M.W. Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway South, Keswick, Ontario. An additional Memorial Service will be held at the Bangor Cemetery, P.E.I. on July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., potluck to follow.
