James Grant Foster

After a brave and hard-fought battle, it is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Jim Foster, a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great grandfather and the steady heart of his family. 

Jim was the beloved husband of Sharon Foster. His love for his wife was constant and unwavering, and together they built a life rooted in loyalty, care, and devotion. 

He was a loving father to Shelly (John), Amy, Jamie, Joel (Heather), and Leah (Matt), and a caring stepfather to Kyle (Steph) and Katie (Steve). He was a cherished grandfather to Brad, Dannielle, Roger, Eva, Liam, Corson, Marshall, and Scarlett, and a great-grandfather to Mason. 

He was a truly thoughtful and selfless man. Caring for others was not something he tried to be — it was simply who he was. He worked hard, provided faithfully, and quietly carried the needs of those around him. Whether it was his wife, his children, his grandchildren, extended family, or even his beloved animals, Jim’s heart made room for everyone. He loved fully and gave of himself without hesitation. 

He was predeceased by his mother, Karen Downey, and is lovingly remembered by his siblings Kevin and Darlene, as well as his nieces Crystal, Sami, Lenayah and extended family.

His life was defined by love, sacrifice, and unwavering care for those around him. He will be deeply missed, and his absence will be deeply felt. He will remain forever in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
