John Thomas Kervin

1927 — September 1, 2010

KERVIN, John Thomas “Tom” (September 9, 1927 – September 1, 2010). Tom, when you were growing up in Callander with your parents Florence and Thomas, your older sister Kathleen, and younger brothers Richard and Donald, and were working as a young man at Kervin’s Camp on Lake Nipissing did you imagine what a wonderful, full life you would have? Did you see the rewarding future with your dearest friend and soul mate of more than 53 years, Elaine, and your three unique, wonderful children, Tracy, John and Jayne? Could you have imagined their gifts of such beautiful grandchildren? So much cause for joy: the love and devotion of a large extended family and so many caring friends, your photography and painting talents, your thirst for travelling, your story telling, and your rich professional accomplishments, first in television in North Bay and Sudbury, then as the editor for Canada Packer’s magazine “The Maple Leaf” in Toronto. So much to be proud of: wit, intelligence, style, a loving, caring and gentle nature – giving freely without expectation, never judging, never criticizing. Tom, we love you. We will always miss you. We will never forget you. Visitation will be held 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM on Friday, September 3 at M.W. Becker Funeral Home (490 The Queensway South, Keswick, 888-884-4486), and 1 hour before the Funeral Mass to be held 11 AM on Saturday, September 4 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (129 Metro Road North, Keswick). Tom’s ashes will be interred in Callander following a fall memorial service at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church (163 High Street North, Callander). If desired, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. www.mwbeckerfuneralhome.com
