Shirley May Furlotte-Tay

It is with great sadness that we share, suddenly on Thursday, February 29, 2024, Shirley May Furlotte-Tay, passed away peacefully with her dear husband Michael Tay by her side at their home in Keswick.

Shirley was born on May 9, 1961 in Toronto, Ontario. She was born into a family with many older and younger loving brother and sisters. At the age of twenty-four she would welcome the first of her children, starting her journey as a loving mother and role model to many. Teaching others to stand up for their rights and to never back down. Whether they were her own family or someone she identified with, Shirley would make sure those who needed love and support got it in abundance.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband Michael Tay of Keswick, as well as their beautiful children: Karrie (Mike) of Etobicoke, William (Miranda) of Oakville, and Randy and Jennifer, both of Markham.

She remains a cherished grandmother to: Elijah Tay, Wesley Tay, and Lillian Asselstine (July 2024). Shirley will be fondly remembered by her siblings, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place for Shirley at the MW Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway South, Keswick, Ontario on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11am – 12pm.
